Learning outcomes
|
The subject is a profiling theoretical-practical subject that provides students with comprehensive knowledge of newborn care. The clinical part of the course is devoted to basic anatomical and physiological knowledge of newborns, classifies newborns according to clinical condition to physiological, risk or pathological, including causes and possibilities of highly specialized care. Students acquire basic skills resulting from midwifery competencies and these are: the first treatment of a newborn after birth, the care of the newborn in the postpartum period.
Expertise: The student is able to define a physiological newborn, can describe the difference between a physiological and a pathological newborn more extensively, can evaluate the condition of a newborn using various assessment scales suitable for newborns, can enumerate the benefits of breastfeeding, explain the principles, advantages and methods of oxygen therapy. and child, can describe the rules and principles of providing resuscitation to newborns. Professional skills: The student is able to perform basic nursing procedures in the newborn (first treatment of the newborn, resuscitation of the newborn), can evaluate the adaptation of the newborn, initiate early and high-quality resuscitation of the newborn, choose the appropriate scaling techniques in the newborn. General competences: The student is able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly to the woman about the nature of professional problems and to propose their solution.
