Course content
Témata seminářů: 1. Introduction to community care, system of care for women in the Czech Republic, possibilities for cooperation, legislation and planned changes 2. Work of a midwife in the community, competence, knowledge and skills 3. Preparation of an exercise lesson, educating the woman about suitable physical activities, own exercises 4. Education of women in the prevention of inflammatory gynecological diseases and sexually transmitted diseases, creation of an educational / intervention program 5. Care of the woman and her family in case of perinatal loss, legislation, farewell options, psychological support incl. stages of grieving, communication skills 6. Simulation care of the woman during all periods of labor, including vaginal examination analysis, CTG evaluation, support and education of the woman in non-pharmacological methods of pain relief in the first phase of labor, induction of labor, treatment of possible injuries and treatment of the newborn; the student evaluates the physiology, suspicion or pathology during childbirth the entire time 7. Comparison of community care in Czech Republic and another countries ? legislative standards for doing business in this area, cooperation with authorities at all levels, individualized care for the woman

Learning outcomes
The subject is part of the profiling basis of the study program Midwifery. A substantial part is dedicated to primary care, its organization in our healthcare system and the position of midwives in ambulatory care. In community care, students focus on independent work in the woman's community, on cooperation with the woman's family. Emphasis is placed on education in the field of family planning, prevention of communicable diseases, health education and other programs that are of great importance for the health of the entire community. Within the community, students focus on cooperation with other entities that aim to adapt professional care according to the current needs of community members, especially women and their families.
Expertise: The student has knowledge of primary care for a woman, defines the position of midwife in primary care. The student enumerates the terms screening, dispensarization, prevention. The student will identify possible risk factors in the community environment of a woman and her family. Professional skills: The student is well versed in primary care for a woman. The student assesses the natural environment of a woman, her family and the whole community. It identifies risk factors in the life of a woman and her family. The student responds to the needs of pregnant women, mothers and adolescents, if necessary, suggests and supports appropriate changes in the lifestyle of women. General competences: The student is able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly to the woman about the nature of professional problems and to propose their solution.
