Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. The role of midwife in perioperative care - the concept of perioperative care and its division, 2. Education in perioperative care. Hygienic, technical and safety requirements for the surgical tract. 3. Organizational structure and operation of operating theaters - basic instrumentation and material equipment. 4. Nursing perioperative care of a patient in the role of instrumenting and circulating nurses. 5. Basic instruments, surgical needles, sewing and ligature material. 6. Specifics of intraoperative care in selected gynecological procedures. Specifics of Intraoperative Care in Selected Procedures in Obstetrics (S.C.) - Training in Preparations for Surgery

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints students with specific care of gynecologically ill women, pregnant women, mothers and puerperium undergoing surgery. Students get acquainted with perioperative care for a woman and provide adequate care in the form of a nursing process. The training includes preparation for surgery and assistance in Caesarean section.
Expertise: The student is familiar with the requirements for operating operating theaters. He knows their division in terms of asepsis. The student understands the necessity of strict adherence to hygienic and anti-epidemiological measures in operating theaters. Professional skills: The student is purposefully moving in the operating room without violating hygiene principles. The student prepares for the surgical performance (SC) in cooperation with the instrument. General competences: The student is able to communicate comprehensibly and convincingly to the woman about the nature of the professional problems and propose their solution.
