Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: Nursing process - saturation of basic life needs. Nursing process - application of drugs and injections. Nursing process in voiding care. Seminar topics: 2nd consultation: Recommended procedures for insertion and care of invasive inputs. Recommended procedure for nursing care of the patient before and after the puncture. Recommended procedure for patient care before and after endoscopic examination. Self-study: Nursing process in the care of hygiene, nutrition and physical activity. Recommended procedure for application of infusion and transfusion products, care for impaired skin integrity and stoma care.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical and practical. The content of the subject forms the core for the professional skills of general nurses and belongs to the complex of basic professional subjects. Student will have theoretical knowledge to perform dependent and independent activities of a nurse, on the basis of which he will be able to perform services in accordance with valid legislation for general nurses. Individual nursing procedures and techniques are taught in accordance with the principles of the nursing process and a holistic understanding of nursing care.
Expertise: Student has the theoretical knowledge to perform practical nursing services in accordance with the competencies of a general nurse according to the applicable legislation. Student can describe nursing procedures in individual areas, their meaning, preparation and care of the patient before, during the procedure and after the procedure. Student can describe the negative effects of improperly performed nursing procedures on human health. Professional skills: Student practically demonstrates individual nursing procedures. Student demonstrates manual dexterity in performing practical tasks and techniques from the area of dependent, independent and cooperative activities of the nurse with regards to the individual needs and safety of the patient. General qualifications: The student is able to clearly and convincingly provide the patient with information about the nature of professional problem and propose their solution.
