Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: Physiological changes in pregnancy, care for a physiological pregnant woman Physiological birth and puerperium Pathological and risky pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum Basic obstetric operations 2nd consultation: Inflammatory diseases in gynecology Tumor diseases of the reproductive system Basic gynecological operations Seminar topics: 3rd consultation: Primary and community care for women. Nursing care of adolescent and minor clients in the gynecological clinic. Nursing care of a woman with an inflammatory disease, with cancer. Nursing care of a woman undergoing gynecological surgery. 4th consultation: Nursing care of women in the prenatal care system. Nursing care for a woman in childbirth with physiological labor and puerperium, for a mother in physiological labor and puerperium, for a woman with high-risk and pathological pregnancy, with pathological labor and puerperium. Self-study: Midwife work in ambulatory care for women. System of screening examinations in the gynecologist's clinic. System of community care for women, competence of midwife community in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
The course is theoretical - practical. It introduces students to the concept of the field in the entire spectrum of physiological, risk and pathological conditions in gynecology and obstetrics. It uses knowledge from other interdisciplinary subjects, focusing on care in gynecology and obstetrics.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge in the field of physiology and pathology of the reproductive system. The student can explain the menstrual cycle of a woman. The student orients himself in the examination methods used in gynecology and obstetrics. The student can evaluate physiological pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. The student recognizes risk and pathological conditions during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Professional skills: The student recognizes the acute condition of a woman in a gynecological clinic. The student educates the woman before gynecological surgery. The student educates pregnant women about lifestyle changes. The student is a lactation consultant. General qualifications: The student is able to use all acquired knowledge when caring for a woman in practice. The student is able to communicate information to women about the nature of professional problems and suggest their solutions.
