Course content
General scope of individual practice II: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where the student cares about women with physiological, risk and pathological pregnancy (department of operative and conservative gynecology, department of high-risk pregnancies, department of delivery rooms, department of physiological newborns). Students will get to know the system of primary and secondary health care in health care, health promotion, education and health promotion. They will get to know the activities of organizations operating in the field of primary care, health education and health promotion. Applying health education methods with a focus on factors affecting an individual's health and environment, principles for maintaining health and application ability in the daily life of an individual, family, group and society. Introduction to operation of gynecological and obstetric departments. Content of professional practice: - Organization of Midwife work in the treatment unit - Introduction to the hygienic-epidemiological regime of the workplace - Care about the patient's bed, positioning Introduction with the leading of the medical documentation at the workplace, the system of manipulation with the medical documentation and its storage - Oral and written transmission of information within the nursing team - Reception, translation, release of the sick - Monitoring and orientation assessment of physiological functions - body temperature, breath, heart rate, blood pressure, body height, weight, consciousness - Care for adult hygiene, bed, children and newborns - Care for patient emptying, preparation and assistance for catheterization, care for permanent urinary catheter, care for aids, preparation and assistance with enema application, care for aids, care for incontinent patients - Nutrition and hydration care for adult and child patients; preparation and assistance in feeding the food by feeding the patients - Collection of biological material by invasive and non-invasive pathways and evaluation of results - Specific achievements and work of Midwife - monitoring a woman in all times of her life - Monitoring of a woman before childbirth, in the delivery room, after childbirth, in the puerperium, newborn care, care of a woman and newborn in the area of lactation counseling - Care for a woman at risk and pathological pregnancy - Leading the birth of a woman with physiological birth - securing a woman at all times of birth - Participation in assessing the needs of women, manifestations of their disease (assessment of the patient's overall condition, taking a nursing history, evaluating the client, implementing the nursing plan, evaluating the overall care process, active PA participation in the whole process of woman care, evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care provided

Subject Individual Professional Training II is conceived as a practical subject and takes place at accredited workplaces in the form of block teaching, it is based on the conceptual model of determinants of WHO health, which is oriented on the area of health promotion and prevention of the disease and on training and mastering of basic nursing, diagnostic and therapeutic activities in inpatient gynecological - obstetric nursing care facilities. Practical training takes place under the direct guidance of a professional mentor and academic staff supervision.
Expertise: Students will understand the possibilities, conditions and limitations of the use of theory, methods of the field in practice. He / she knows the organization of the post in the workplace, where he / she takes part at the practical training. The student has the expertise to conduct physiological delivery independently. She/he is able to effectively use the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Midwifery in practice. Professional skills: With the use of the expertise based on a defined task, he / she can solve problems in the field. The student knows the educational process and can use it in practice. She is able to perform physiological delivery under the supervision of a mentor. It gains additional professional knowledge, skills and competences on the basis of practical experience and is able to evaluate the situation. General competences: It is able to communicate clearly and convincingly its own professional opinions and experience to experts and the wider public. Can work in a team of health professionals, communicating at a professional level.
