Course content
Content of professional practice: Getting acquainted with the primary health care system for health care, health promotion, and health promotion. Getting to know the activities of organizations operating in the field of primary care, health education and health promotion. Applying health education methods with a focus on factors affecting an individual's health and environment, principles for maintaining health and application ability in the daily life of an individual, family, group and society. Getting to know the operation of gynecological - obstetric ambulance, pregnancy counseling Organization of the Midwife´s work in gynecological - obstetric clinic Introduction to the hygienic-epidemiological regime of the workplace Introduction to the management of medical documentation at the workplace, the system of work with medical documentation and its storage (preservation) Oral and written transmission of information within the nursing team Monitoring and indicative assessment of physiological functions - body temperature, breath, heart rate, blood pressure, body height, weight, consciousness Sampling of biological material by invasive and non-invasive methods, evaluation of biological material Obstetric and gynecological history Assessment of external and internal pelvic dimensions Monitoring of a pregnant woman with physiological and risky pregnancy, women throughout the fertile period Education of women in pregnancy and primary prevention Participation in evaluating women's needs, manifestations of their disease (assessment of the patient's overall condition, taking a nursing anamnesis, evaluating a woman, implementing a nursing plan, evaluating the overall care process - active Midwife´s participation in woman care, assessing the effectiveness of care provided.

Practice in the summer semester is based on the conceptual model of WHO health determinants, which is oriented not only to the area of health promotion and prevention of the disease as soon as for the training and acquisition of basic nursing, diagnostic and therapeutic activities in ambulatory care facilities. Professional training takes place under the direct guidance of a professional mentor and supervised by an academic. Prerequisite for the completion of professional training is the synthesis and use of the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills that the student acquired during the course of the studies. Professional training is realized in gynecological - obstetric outpatient facilities.
Expertise: Midwifes will understand the possibilities, conditions and limitations of the use of theory, methods of the field in practice. He / she knows the organization of the work in the workplace, where he / she is at the practices. She is able to effectively use the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Midwifery in practice. Professional skills: Using expertise based on a defined task, he / she can solve problems in the field. She/he knows the educational process and can use it in practice. It gains additional professional knowledge, skills and competences on the basis of practical experience and is able to evaluate the situation.
