Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. Revision of basic knowledge of IT: Information and its units, HW and SW, principles of work on the Internet. 2. E-learning: Functions and types of e-learning system, access to e-learning at the faculty (Moodle) resp. at other faculties with similar focus (MEFANET). Advanced MS-Office: Copies of formats, use of Ctrl + H for replacements, PowerPoint (slide transitions, use of animations). 3. Word: Divide a document into sections and different types of page numbering in sections, headings and content generation, citation, and literature review. 4. Excel: Automatic sequence completion, using partition anchors, copying with lock symbol, multi-criteria data sorting. 5. Excel: Functions = sum, selected text and logic functions, bar graph, circular, line, point and graph editing - scaling, axis description changes. 6. General principles and trends of E-health, EHR (EPR) - electronic health (patient) record, its standards (HL7). Demonstration of the use of FEM and MBS in scientific work in medicine.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach the student user and professional access to informatics, computer technology and to be informed with possibilities of its use in health care. It provides a foundation for using different software files, word processing and data processing.
Expertise: Students will be acquainted with modern possibilities of using IS (information technologies in general) in the field of health and social care. They will know basic concepts related to e-health and telemedicine. Professional skills: Students are able to use by advanced level computer technology in commonly available computer applications. General competences: The student is able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge by the study of other specialized subjects and apply them in practice.

Passing of the attendance (min. 80% attendance at direct teaching). Credit will be given by passing the test which will show practical skills of the work with PC.
