Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation Definition, goals of internal medicine. Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in cardiology. Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in pneumology. 2nd consultation: Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in gastroenterology. Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in nephrology. 3rd consultation: Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in hematology. Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in orthopedics. Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in endocrinology. Seminar topics: 4th consultation: Problem interpretation: Specifics of nursing care in internal nursing. Problem interpretation: Nursing process in a patient with cardiovascular system disease. Problem interpretation: Nursing process for a patient with a respiratory system disease. Problem interpretation: Nursing process for a patient with a disease of the excretory system. 5. Consultation: Problem interpretation: Nursing process in a patient with a disease of the gastrointestinal system. Problem interpretation: Nursing process for a patient with a blood and hematopoiesis disease. Problem interpretation: Nursing process for a patient with a disease of the locomotor system. Self-study: Etiology, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures in endocrinology. Nursing process for a patient with an endocrine system disease.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It is part of the complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It characterizes clinical conditions in internal medicine from the point of view of nursing care and the needs of patient changed in connection with internal diseases. Student gets acquainted with the specifics of field diagnostics, treatment and nursing care of patients in internal fields.
Expertise: The student knows the causes, etiology and symptoms of internal diseases. The student knows the basic procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in internal medicine. The student can describe the specifics of nursing care for patients with internal diseases. Professional skills: The student is able to develop a plan of nursing care in the context of the specifics of the disease in internal fields. The student can develop, implement and evaluate an educational plan for patients with selected internal diseases. General qualifications: The student is able to clearly and convincingly provide the patient with information about the nature of professional problems and propose solution.
