Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: 1. Introduction to the problematics of emotional intelligence. 2. Emotions, the function of emotions in our life. 3. Development of emotional intelligence within ontogenesis. 4. Intelligence, its development and influence on an individuals' activity. 2nd consultation: 1. Intelligence versus emotional intelligence. 2. Sensitivity to other peoples' emotions - empathy. 3. Emotions and motivation. 4. Managing emotions and self-regulation. Seminar topics: 3rd consultation: 1. Managing own emotions, techniques for developing management of emotions. 2. The art of interpersonal relationships. 3. Regulation of own emotions. 4. Tests of emotional intelligence. 4th Consultation: 1. Practical application of the chosen method. 2. Self-motivation. 3. Practicing empathy. 4. Successful interpersonal relationships. Self-study: Emotional development in ontogeny. Development of self-concept. Theory of communication.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on the issue of emotions, emotional intelligence, interpersonal interaction and self-concept. It provides a basic overview of theoretical and cognitive approaches in the field of working with emotions. Getting to know the basic technique of working with emotions. The focus of the theoretical and practical part of the course is on the emotional intelligence, its development and possibilities of use in social interaction.
Expertise: Student can orientate himself in current theories of emotional issues, student can explain how emotions influence human behavior, cognitive functions and health. Professional skills: Student is able to recognize his emotional experience, student can characterize motivational principles and elements. General qualifications: The student is capable of empathic communication and listening.
