Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Introduction to emotional intelligence. 2. Emotions, the function of emotions in our lives. 3. Development of emotional intelligence within ontogenesis. 4. Intelligence, its development and influence on the activity of an individual. 5. Intelligence versus Emotional intelligence. 6. Sensitivity to other people's emotions - empathy. 7. Emotions and motivation. 8. Emotion management and self-regulation. 9. Emotional intelligence tests. Seminar topics: 1. Coping with one's own emotions, acquaintance with the techniques of developing this skill. 2. The art of interpersonal relationships. 3. Regulation of own emotions. 4. Practical application of the chosen method. 5. Self-motivation. 6. Empathy training. 7. Coping with aggression. 8. Assertive communication. 9. Successful interpersonal relationships.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on issues of emotions, emotional intelligence, interpersonal interactions and self-concept. It provides a basic overview of theoretical and cognitive approaches to working with emotions. Getting acquainted with the basic techniques of working with emotions. The focus of the theoretical and practical part of the course is emotional intelligence, its development and possibilities of use in social interaction.
Expertise: The student is able to orientate in current theories of emotions, can clarify how emotions affect human behavior, cognitive functions and health. Professional skills: The student is able to recognize his emotional experience, can characterize motivational principles and elements. Competences: The student is qualified for empathic communication and listening.
