- Psychotherapy, its methods and goals. Differences in working with the client in the context of different therapeutic directions. - Ways of establishing contact and therapeutic relationship. Specifics of conducting a therapeutic interview with children. - Game therapy methods. Game therapy with the intentions of PCA. - Possibilities of using Sandplay Therapy. - Facilitation of therapeutic sessions. - The course of therapy. Starting and ending work with the client. Working with a therapeutic contract. - Pitfalls and risks of game therapy. The most common mistakes of the therapist. - Possibilities of crisis intervention through play. - Application of game therapy in work with the family. - Ethical limits of therapeutic work with a child client. The course is aimed to acquaint students with the specifics of psychotherapeutic work with children and bring them to the method of play therapy and its possible application in solving problems of different nature. Students will learn about the way to use play therapy in keeping with different therapeutic approaches. Emphasis will be placed on the family therapy area of and on the crisis intervention through the game.
Students will learn the principles of conducting a therapeutic conversation with a child. They are able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and apply game therapy procedures in direct work with the client. They are able to establish a therapeutic relationship with the client, show empathy and acceptance. They are able to interpret the course of a therapeutic session and draw appropriate conclusions from it. |
