Course content
Concept of handicap, illness as a psychological problem; development differences of handicapped individual; agents influencing reactions of individual on illness or handicap; socialization of handicapped individual; principles and specifics of working with handicapped individual; working with individuals with ADHD; tantalized, neglected and sexually abused child; working with individuals with mental handicap; pervasive development disturbances and working with them; working with individuals with neurotic disorders; working with individuals with psychotic disorders and personality disorder; working with affects; working with physical handicap.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to get to know students about basic development deviations and variables of development of individual in particular age categories, about psychic problems which come out from handicap of and individual, about basic psychotherapeutic directions and techniques and their application by individuals with handicap.
Students will get to know problematic of handicap and reactions on it after absolving the course, they orientate in different attitudes toward handicapped individual, they can see a variability of particular handicap. Student can use an optimal attitude towards individual with particular handicap in the frame of preventing work also in the frame of providing the adequate help under competences which come out from future professional submission of the absolvent.
