The aim is to develop an overview of the development of educational theories in relation to philosophical, social, political and historical circumstances of a given historical development. The student will be encouraged to be able to critically examine individual conceptions of pedagogical figures. In this context, the History of Education is understood as a comprehensive subject in which a holistic understanding of the general relations of the educational process is sought. History of pedagogy is thus based on knowledge of general Czech and European history. Students will be encouraged to realise that educational contents, forms and methods are based on general historical, political and social circumstances of the time. The historical development of human education thus serves as a necessary basis for understanding the complex relationship of other educational disciplines.
