Course content
1. Introduction to the subject, acquaintance with the content of the subject, literature and requirements for the credit and the exam. 2. Preschool pedagogy, its goals and tasks, the relationship of preschool pedagogy to other sciences and pedagogical disciplines. 3. Preschool child and factors influencing the development of his personality. 4. Family and kindergarten. The transition of a child from family to kindergarten. 5. Kindergarten and its role in the present. Goals and tasks of kindergarten. Types of kindergartens. 6. Curriculum of preschool education and its changes in the present. 7. Conditions of education of preschool children in kindergarten. Kindergarten organization. Social climate of kindergarten. 8. Play as a basic activity of a preschool child. 9. Pedagogical diagnostics and evaluation in kindergarten. 10. Preparing a child for primary school - school readiness and its areas. 11. Current topics in preschool education (education of two-year-old children in kindergarten, compulsory preschool education, joint education).

Learning outcomes
The subject Preschool Pedagogy is to lead students to the knowledge and understanding of the specifics of preschool pedagogy, its subject and content in relation to other pedagogical disciplines. The content of the course is subordinated to this - the starting point is the basic pedagogical categories in connection with preschool education, attention is paid to the institutional education of preschool children, a new concept of preschool education and approaches to preschool children. Students will get acquainted with the forms and means of preschool education, with key areas of education in kindergarten, with planning the educational process in kindergarten in the context of key elements that enter into the design of teacher work and influence the organization of activities and climate in kindergarten.
The student is familiar with the basic terminology of preschool education, characterizes the qualities and specifics of preschool children, works with a curricular document for preschool education, applies theoretical knowledge to the creation of school and class education program, theoretically and partially practically manages planning activities in kindergarten school in terms of content (material) and methodological and class documentation. It specifies the concept of personality-oriented preschool education, its goals and key areas of preschool education and training (components of preschool education). Orients in the key competencies of the kindergarten teacher. It describes changes in the preparatory education of kindergarten teachers, taking into account new trends in our country and in the world.

Active participation in the seminar to the appropriate extent defined by UJEP regulations. Successful completion of the credit test and elaboration of a semester work.
