Course content
Course content: The course is divided into a total of four basic areas. Course covers the following topics: 1. Social and Legal Protection of Children Organs child protection and their responsibilities and powers - "Child at risk" -povinnosti schools and educational institutions and their staff in child protection -Foreign element in child protection -Úmluva On the Rights of the Child 2.Odpovědnost juveniles and minors for infringements -zákon of Juvenile Justice -trestní juvenile offense -zvláštnosti criminal proceedings against a juvenile and minor, juvenile court -výchovná measures -protective measures (especially protective education and preventive detention) -trestní measures -prevence 3.Související issues of family law -rodičovská responsibility, relationships between parents and children -vyživovací obligation (between parents and children and between other family members) -spare family care (adoption, foster care, guardianship, custody) -ústavní Education

Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at introducing students to child protection in particular in terms of the obligations of schools and educational facilities in this area. In the context of child protection, attention will also be paid to criminal youth justice and responsibility of juveniles and minors for illegal activities. Students will also be familiar with some institutes of family law, particularly in the form of foster care and parental responsibility. The focus of the course can be adjusted according to the needs and interests of students.
Students will learn how to navigate in the regulation of child protection, gain detailed knowledge about relationships within the family, maintenance obligations, legal representation of children, foster care, and especially on child protection responsibilities and educational institutions in the field of socio-legal protection of children.
