Learning outcomes
Discipline is intended for students who want to deepen their educational and socio-cultural competence for teaching foreign students in the multicultural classroom primary school. The course builds on the discipline of contemporary Czech language, pedagogy and psychology, with which the students met during their studies. The aim of the course is to equip students sociocultural competence, especially knowledge about the culture of the country from which pupils foreigners come, their traditions, customs and differences of Czech culture. Students will learn the discipline called Sociocultural minimum, which is a prerequisite for a teacher to successful integration and education of foreign pupils in primary education.
In the area of student knowledge can describe and ordain fundamental differences and differences between domestic (Czech) culture and other cultures (including their traditions and customs) of those countries from which most pupils foreigners in the Czech primary schools come. He can explain and describe the process of intercultural communication, explain the principles of migration policy, the issue of migration in the Czech Republic, justify and analyze current intercultural differences in the Czech society and the Czech educational system. The skills acquired its listener can sociocultural knowledge applied to teaching practice, are able to assess and analyze the typical characteristics of different socio-cultural environment in different nations and cultures, predict behaviors of their members, to select appropriate means for successful intercultural communication in Czech society and the school environment, which is determined by the specificities of languages, cultures, mentalities and value systems communicating partners.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit requirements: active participation in joint consultations, developing power-point presentation (on socio-cultural differences in another country) and its presentation to the joint consultation, portfolio preparation for the final examination. 1. Drawing power-point presentation on socio-cultural differences in another country (in the confrontation with the Czech environment). 2. Preparation of the portfolio at the SFE. The condition for the successful completion of the course is active participation in joint consultation (100% attendance). Written communication with the teacher takes place via e-mail (jaromira.sindelarova@ujep.cz). On the basis of a positive evaluation after meeting the above criteria will be awarded to the student credit (control study). Written processing of selected tasks identified in the study support that is available to http://sociocultur.ujep.cz/elearning/.
