Course content
The content of the course follows the course KPR/6012 Growing and Technical Work I KS and in accordance with the General Educational Program for elementary education is primarily devoted to fields Growing Work and Food Preparation in educational area Man and the World of Work. The introduction of the course is focused on psychomotor learning and its basic characteristics. In addition, the course deals with the basic educational categories with emphasis on their use in practical activities. Pivotal workshops are dedicated to the growing work and food preparation - the emphasis is placed not only on the theoretical mastering subject matter but also on its practical application. 1. Psychomotor learning. Basic characteristics of psychomotor skills. The pupil mentoring during his learning of psychomotor skills. The issue of training of new practical activities. 2. Objectives, methods, forms and principles of technical work teaching. Project teaching in practical activities. 3. Principles of social behaviour. Principles of good dining. 4. Preparing meals. Principles of rational diet. Gastronomy rules. Nutritional value of food. Equipment and technology in the kitchen, hygiene and safety in the home. 5. Food in the home. Food preparation and dining tables. 6. Growing Work. Inclusion the Growing Work into GEP. Occupational Health and Safety. 7. Soil. Soil properties. Tillage. Suitability of the land for planting. Indicative determination of the soil type. 8. External growth factors. Agro technical data. Harmful agents and plant protection against them. Basic equipment for growing plants. 9. Organic and inorganic fertilizers. Compost. Green manure. Principles of fertilizer use. 10. Seeds and seedlings. Seeds of cultivated plants. Pre-growing of seedlings. Planting of seedlings. 11. Ornamental plants. Classification of ornamental plants. Ornamental trees. 12. Ornamental herbs. Ornamental herbs classification. Cultivation of medicinal plants and spices. Learning outcomes
The subject is a key for the education of future teachers in the educational aspects of work, FEP for the 1st st. Elementary School. Follows the course Methodology cultivation and technical work I full-time study and is completed by a joint credit and examination for teaching courses in winter and summer semesters. Subject fills the role of training future teachers first st. Elementary School in psychomotor domain on the practical education, and is designed so that the component of knowledge, practical and creative were exported.
The student after successful completion of the course is able to design, conduct and evaluate teaching in the educational fields of growing work and food preparation in educational area Man and the World of Work for the primary school education. The student knows the principles of psychomotor skills learning he is able to set educational goals and to use appropriate educational methods, forms, principles and means. The student is able to practice in their own activities to apply the acquired knowledge in the fields of plant growing and food preparation. He knows the rules of proper table manners and behaviour.

The course builds on the course KPR/4729 Didactics of growing and technical work I.

Assessment methods and criteria

Requirements for credit: - the successful completion of the final test; - giving of practical seminar works; - personally presence at a recording of study credit. Exam requirements: - successful completion of the exam test and an oral examination; - personally presence at a recording of examination.
