Learning outcomes
|
The course provides a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills in the area of somatology and anthropology. It includes introduction to anatomy and human physiology (it builds on the knowledge acquired at the secondary school), introduction to the human genetics, developmental biology and hygiene. Emphasis is placed on the ontogenetic development and age-related characteristics of younger school children and the physical and psychical changes during puberty. The course is a starting point for studying further scientific disciplines included in the study plans (for example psychology, sociology, environmental problems etc.) Practical exercises in biology of the child form an integral part of the course and are designed with a view to clarify the difficulties linked to anatomy, physiology and genetic. Through anthropometric and physiological measurements future teachers acquire basic information about their personal health indicators, which is a motivating factor in shaping their positive attitudes to their own health, the health of children and choice of the life-style supporting health.
Students will be able to assess the biological development of the child in relation to his chronological age, students will be able to meet their basic biological needs that are essential to meet the increased needs and will be able to empathize with the problems of children caused by disabilities, chronic illness or acute health problems. Students will be able to justify the principles of sound lifestyle to his students and to contribute to its creation.
