Course content
1. Introduction to World Literature for Children - explanation of basic concepts, an overview of children's literature in the global context. 2. Child foklor - folk sayings in the collections of international artists and their translations into Czech, prominent Czech translators of children's folklore. 3. Overview of trends in the world of poetry for children. 4. Significant representatives of the world of poetry for children - H. Hoffmann, E. Lear, J. Reeves, Ch. Morgenstern, D. Hevier and others, interpreting their works. 5. Folk tales for children in collections and editing the writers of the world. 6. Classical fairy tale development line. 7. Overview of the most important personalities of folk tales and copyrights in world literature. 8. J. and W. Grimm, AN Afanasyev - the mythological theory of fairy tales, folk tales adaptation. 9. Ch. Perrault, C. Collodi, AA Milne, L. Carroll and others, interpreting their works. 10. The meaning H. Ch. Andersen for a child's world literature. 11. Current world authors of children's fairytales - R. Dahl, A. Lindgren, M. Ende, T. Jansson and others, interpreting their works. 12. Developing stories with a child character in a global context. 13. Prose with a child character in world literature and its authors - A. Lindgren, Sempé-Goscinny and others, interpreting their works. 14. Picture books for children, picture books, comics.

Learning outcomes
Discipline follows the course Literature for Children I from the previous semester and is aimed at obtaining important information about children's literature in the global context. A comprehensive overview of authors, genres and works of world literature for children at different developmental stages are presented to the students. Attention is paid to the interpretation of selected literary texts in the context of the development of individual genres of the world literature for children. The themes allow listeners to become active in debates about both individual authors of the world literature and to selected works of world literature. Student can enumerate and explain the basic concepts in relation to the world literature for children, characterize and analyze the characteristics and the basic areas of children's literature of preschool children globally, to explain the dynamics of development of world literary production for preschoolers, provide a comprehensive overview of authors, genres and works of world literature for children at different developmental stages and assess their importance for preschool education. In the area of students' skills can student productively use theoretical knowledge for their own teaching in kindergarten. The students can work creatively with literary texts from the world literature for children, especially with childrens' folklore, poetry, fairy tales, legends and prose with a child hero, and based on a clear concept of genre, links and connections correctly interpret and analyze works of the world's top writers for children preschool age.
In the area of student knowledge can enumerate and explain basic concepts in relation to world literature for children, characterize and analyze the characteristics and problems of the basic areas of children's literature preschool children globally, to explain the dynamics of development of world literary production for preschoolers, provide a comprehensive overview authors, genres and works of world literature for children at different developmental stages and assess their importance for preschool education. In the area of student skills can productively use theoretical knowledge for their own teaching in kindergarten. It can work creatively with literary texts from the world of literature for children, especially children with folklore, poetry, fairy tales, legends and prose with a child hero, and based on a clear concept of genre, links and connections correctly interpret and analyze works of the world's top writers for children preschool age.

Assessment methods and criteria

First prerequisite for successful management discipline is literary competence listener at the secondary school level (student is in the range of middle school curriculum incorporated the basic information about world literature, its development and significant authors and their works, which can correctly interpret). 2. A written treatment of selected tasks identified in the study supports. 3. A circuit for the test corresponds to the content and themes of the course. The student works according to the study materials and compiled in accordance with the tasks that cast by the tutor within a specified time. The method of assessment tasks is verbal.
