Course content
1. Introduction to the study of literature for children, basic poetic terms. Child and book - characteristics předčtenářského period. 2. Intentional and non-intentional children's literature. Basic classification of genres of children's literature. 3. Child artificial folklore and poetry. 4. Folk Tale in Czech literature. Prominent collectors of folk tales in Czech literature, interpretation of their works. 5. Tale copyright in Czech literature. Prominent leaders and interpretation of their works. 6. Small epic form for children. 7. Prose with a child hero. 8. The Czech literature for children in the period of national revival. 9. The Czech literature for children in the second half of the 19th century. The development of poetry and prose. 10. The Czech literature for children for the creation of independent Czechoslovakia. Interwar period in prose and poetry. 11. The Czech literature for children during the occupation and the postwar period. 12. The Czech children's literature after 1948. 13. Czech literature for children since 1968. 14. The Czech children's literature after 1989.

Learning outcomes
The course is focuses on basic information about the issue of children's literature in the Czech context. Submit to students a comprehensive overview of Czech authors of literature for children and their works in different periods of its development. Attention is paid to the interpretation of selected literary texts in the context of the development of individual genres of Czech literature for children, with themes allow listeners to become an active debate as to individual authors, as well as selected works of Czech literature for children. In the field of student´s knowledge can enumerate and explain the basic concepts of poetic, characterize and analyze the characteristics and problems of the basic areas of children's literature preschool children in the Czech context, explain the dynamics of the development of Czech literature for preschoolers, an integrated list of authors, genres and works Czech literature for children at different developmental stages and assess their importance for preschool education. In the area of student skills can productively use theoretical knowledge for their own teaching in nursery school. It can work creatively with literary texts from Czech art literature for children, especially children with folklore, artificial poetry, fairy tales, legends and prose with a child hero, and based on a clear concept of genre, links and connections correctly interpret and analyze the most important works of Czech composers for preschool children.
