Course content
1. Introduction - familiarization with the program of instruction, recommended literature as requirements for completion of the course, enter the essay. Providing medical care for a child in the Czech Republic, the basics of social pediatrics, specific problems of maltreated, abused and neglected children, drug addiction among children. 2. Growth and development of a healthy child, developmental maturity examination, nutrition, daily routine in different age periods, congenital malformations. 3. Fundamentals of clinical examination in pediatrics, preventive examinations, history, importance of differential diagnosis, analysis of the major symptoms of the disease. 4. First aid and acute conditions in childhood. 5. Diseases of the digestive system. 6. Respiratory diseases and their prevention. 7. Diseases of the circulatory system, blood diseases. 8. Diseases of the kidney and urinary tract diseases of the endocrine glands - Diabetes mellitus. 9. Musculoskeletal diseases. 10. Diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. 11. Skin Diseases 12. Allergic diseases. 13 Infectious diseases of childhood. 14. Evaluation of seminar papers, completing the course.

Learning outcomes
The aim course is provide to students in the basics of Pediatrics, which enable them better focus on the issue of childhood illnesses with which they most frequently in their practice meet. Emphasis is placed on understanding the principles of a healthy lifestyle and preventive measures, which in its consequence can prevent or delay onset of the disease, or who can at least improve the course of treatment and reduce the development of complications. The course is aimed mainly on usual practice, for diseases with which students may encounter in their jobs. Specialized skills - The student is capable of basic orientation in the differential diagnosis of diseases of childhood - Student is able to correct and effective responses to acute conditions in childhood industry knowledge - Student describes the basic concepts associated with diseases of childhood. - Student recognizes the problems of the child and can suggest other procedures - Student is well versed in preventive measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases - The student is able preventable acute situations among other children

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit requirements: Develop and deliver within the deadline seminar work. Entering seminary work: develop a case study of a child with a chronic illness - Theme by appointment with the teacher. Seminar work (minimum 2 pages A4, Word, font size 12) on the topic by arrangement with the teacher on the first hour presentation of their work before an audience in time according to the schedule. Examination Requirements: Areas for the test correspond to individual topics in the course content and topics discussed in seminars.
