Course content
1. Introductory seminar. Getting to know the objectives, content and requirements of the subject. 2. Raw materials, materials, semi-finished product and the product. Classification of technical materials. Physical and mechanical properties of engineering materials. Trends in the use of technical materials. 3. Ferrous metals. Production of pig iron and steel. History and use of ferrous metals. Non-ferrous metals, their history and use. Metal blanks. 4. Working with metal blanks. Wiring. Product of metal. 5. Wood and its processing. Types of wood. Wooden blanks. Agglomerated wood. 6. Technology of work with wood blanks. Carving. Product of wood. 7. Plastics, history and principles of their production. Classification of plastics. Properties of plastics. Ecological aspects of the use of plastics. 8. Technology of work with plastics. Product of plastic. 9. Adhesives. Basic principles of bonding materials. The choice of adhesive. Paint materials. 10. Paper. History and the present of paper production. Types and sizes of paper. 11. Construction work with paper. The cardboard beams. 12. Learning outcomes
Course prepares students to lead practical activities for preschool children so that the children knew how to create the foundations for a good relationship with manual activities and their results, they have cultivated the necessary qualities and equip them with practical knowledge, skills and habits. Introduction of the course is devoted to general properties of technical materials and their classification. Furthermore, the course is focuses on the basic types of technical materials with emphasis on their use in practical activities. Important is training workshops dedicated to the making of products, where emphasis is placed not only on theoretical mastery of subject matter but also for its practical application. Specialized skills - The student is able to their own practical action apply the acquired knowledge of techniques, knows basic technical materials and control technology to work with them; - Student knows the laws of learning psychomotor skills; - Student observes with the principles of safety and hygiene; - Student demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in selecting appropriate job ideas with regard to age peculiarities and abilities of children. industry knowledge - Student recognizes the basic kinds of technical materials and has an overview of their use in kindergarten; - The student has an overview of technologies and processing techniques technical materials; - The student knows the principles of regular articles from the wider school environment.
Student proves familiarity with material and working tools, which are possible to use in work with pre-school children. He manages in hygienic fundamentals during the work and organizes children's work in the light of their safety. Chooses suitable themes for practical and creative activities with regard to age and individual specialities. Manages working procedure and apply them by suitable manner in children's work.
