Course content
|
Gerontopedagogy and its position in the system of educational disciplines - basic terms. Old age as a social phenomenon: aging and age, the age definition, periodization. Factors affecting activity in old age. Functional diversity of seniors. Social pathological phenomena in the elderly. Preparing for retirement as prevention of ageism. The issue of social isolation of seniors. The status and role of older people in the family and society. Education for old age - proseniorská education. Selected aspects of education of seniors. Promoting active environmental program for the elderly. Types of institutions and programs of education for the elderly. Animation programs for seniors - activating and social therapeutic activities for seniors in residential care (examples - the preparation, production, realization).

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to help students to master basic knowledge about gerontagogice (gerontopedagogice) as a frontier scientific discipline that deals with the education of aging and older people. It is a discipline multidiscilinárního character content of the course consists of topics related to education and training in old age and the age and socially oriented topics.
Student: - Is familiar with the system of educational disciplines, - Defines the basic terminology associated with gerontopedagogy, - Able to characterize the aging process and describe the concept of successful aging, - Describes the risk factors of social isolation of seniors, - Highlights the factors affecting activity in old age and occurrence of social pathologies in the elderly, - Explains the importance of educational activities for seniors, - Provides training opportunities in their senior years, - Can prepare a range of educational, motivating and socially therapeutic programs for seniors, - Is able to plan and execute activation program with regard to a specific target group.
