Learning outcomes
|
The course is devoted to the issue of public policy. It therefore focuses on all intentional activities and decisions of the government and other actors that affect the functioning of society. It seeks to present the effects of political decisions, in the form of public policies, on society. It uses the approaches and methods of various other social sciences. The course introduces the processes of identification, formulation, presentation, recognition and satisfaction of public interests.
The student is able to use professional terminology. The student is able to explain what is public policy, how it arises, how it is implemented, what influences policy decisions. The student will acquire the ability to understand politics, policy making and lobbying in a complex and dynamically developing society in the 21st century. The student will gain basic professional prerequisites for independent performance of a wide range of public policy activities, but also, for example, social services and human resources development.

To successfully complete the course, it is required to submit a seminar paper in the range of 8 to 10 standard pages and successful completion of the exam.
