Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with the origin of the Political and politics of the political relationship to its constitutive elements, i.e. a pair of "friend - enemy" (C. Schmitt), and the problem of "polemos" (J. Patočka). This interpretation will be followed by a historical and systematic interpretation of the state (interpretation of the natural state, social contracts), the interpretation of the origin of the modern conception of the state, the relationship of the Political, the state and citizens, the question of a political entity (Hejdánek).
Learning outcomes: students will acquire the following academic knowledge: -can systematically interpret particular issues and illustrate the links with individual thinkers or historical epochs - can present a foreign language text (about 20 pages) on the issue and confront it critically with a primary text. - can systematically work out the above mentioned topics based on the knowledge of the history of political thought.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

To obtain an exam: the oral defense of a written work and answering one question in presented topics. Written work must have a minimum of 8 pages (about 15,000 characters including spaces) and must be based on the presented topics and at least two texts (primary and secondary foreign language text). The topic will be approved by the lecturer in advance.
