Course content
The course is divided into lectures and several excursions to the cultural institutions od the city. Lecture topics: 1) Factors influencing the contemporary art 2) Postproduction 3) Visual culture and visual arts 4) Institutionalization of art 5) Gallery animation and turn to spectator 7) Educational turnover and other turnovers of contemporary art practice + Excursion: 1) Dům kultury města ústí nad Labem 2) Galerie Emila Filly 3) Hraničář (Galerie, Kulturní centrum) 4) Činoherní studio + Possible voluntary bonus Severočeské divadlo opery a baletu

Learning outcomes
One-semester course, which aims to familiarize students with the praxis of contemporary art and in the form of lectures, excursions, and meetings with artists to get a theoretic look at the topic of socialization and also to get practical experience with it. The course also introduces various methods of artistic work, the way of installation of works of art, curatorial practice and the practice of preparing an exhibition. The course also explains and actively uses the theoretical vocabulary used to describe the construction of a work of art and to interpret its meaning and contemporary artistic value. It also puts contemporary art and its theory in the context of philosophical and aesthetic thinking and draws attention to the plurality of solutions and similarities in different concepts and concepts.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an acquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfillment of the graduate of the given field of study.
Prerequisites
A student is able to work with academic literature, he has basic communication skills and orientation in the basic academic terms.
