1) Basic definition of relationships (culture, civilization, tradition) and definition of culture (historical, descriptive, normative, structural, psychological, genetic) 2) Axiological and anthropological concept of culture 3) Cultural anthropology (anthropology and ethnography) 4) Cognitivistic, phenomenological, structural and generative concepts of anthropology 5) History of culture (philosophy of history and historiography) Geistesgeschichte 6) History of mentalities Annales 7) Critical theory Frankfurt School 8) Contemporary critical theory of society 9) Historical memory (cultural memory, collective memory, personal memory) 10) Modernism, avant-garde, neo-avant-garde, post-avant-garde

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic terminology of the field, its methods and themes in the basic orientations of the field. morally defined values that are reflected in shared human practice. Culture will be viewed from a historical perspective, which is determined either in terms of the philosophy of history or modern historiography. Individual topics of the course will be mainly focused on issues of Euro-American culture of the 20th century.
Basic orientation in historiography. Focus on modern and contemporary history.
