Learning outcomes
Reading the basic texts on contemporary philosophy of art in English. Introduction to the basic terminology of aesthetics in English. Gaining proficiency in scholarly english and preparation for a bachelor thesis.
Students will acquire the following academic knowledge: - They will be able to read foreign texts in the philosophy of art and aesthetics - They will be able to interpret foreign language text in contemporary philosophy of art - They will be able to present their insights verbally. - They will learn how to write an abstract of their thesis in English.
Prerequisites
Sufficient command of English reading, writing and speaking on the B2 or C1 level. Orientatiion in history of aesthetic theory.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in the seminar, presentation - oral summary of reading. Leading translation in one seminar (homework of given section).
