1 - Scandinavia as a political region. Definitions: introduction to the study of political systems in Scandinavia, the historical development of a region, the concept of Nordic model 2 - Political system of Sweden 3 - Party system of Sweden 4 - Political system of Norway 5 - Party System of Norway 6 - Political and party system of Denmark, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands 7 - Political and party system of Finland, including ?land Islands 8 - Political and party system of Iceland 9 - The systems of interest mediation. Nordic welfare state (model example of Sweden). 10 - The foreign politics of Nordic countries and Nordic cooperation. 11 - Nordic countries and European integration processes

Learning outcomes |
The target of the course is to get students acquainted with the basic overview of political and party systems in Nordic countries, including introduction of the concept of so-called Nordic model. The course is focused on the foreign politics of individual countries with the emphasis on their attitude to European integration.
Students will be able to use academic terminology. Students will get acquainted with the region of Northern Europe (political, social and economic party system). Students will be able to characterize the specifics of the political systems of Nordic countries. Students will become oriented in the modern history of relationship between Scandinavian countries and European integration processes. |
