Learning outcomes
The course introduces history of sociology and most notable theoretical paradigms, shows the place of sociology in the system of social sciences and contacts with other disciplines. It also introduces basic sociological terms to enable students work with scientific literature.
Students will acquire: - knowledge of placement and specifics of sociology in the classification of social sciences - knowledge of history of sociology and main theoretical paradigms - basic skills in work with sociological literature based on orientation in terminology and paradigms

Assessment methods and criteria

The knowledge of the course will be verified by written test, focused on knowledge of historical and topical context of sociology as a science. Other conditions for obtaining credits: systematical reading of obligatory texts
