Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to introduce analytical philosophy as a specific way of thinking, with the focus on the origin of this discipline as well as its development in the 20th century. The selected historical examples will demonstrate how the language philosophers deal with the philosophical problems.
The students understand the specific features of analytical philosophy. They are able to explain how this discipline deals with the older and contemporary metaphysics and to distinguish two basic approaches towards the philosophical issues.
Prerequisites
The course Základy logiky (Foundations of Logic) must be successfully completed before Analytical Philosophy.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student is supposed to attend the course regularly and to study the literature recommended by the tutor. The oral exam at the end of the course will prove student´s ability to understand the lectured themes as well as to interpret philosophical texts.
