Depends on the teacher. Term seminar on the philosophy of Thomas Kuhn is given as an example. 1 to 2 Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions I: normal science 3. Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions II: paradigm 4. Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions III: anomalies and the emergence of discovery 5. Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions IV: crisis and reply to it 6 to 8 Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions V: Scientific Revolution 9. Kuhn: Structure of Scientific Revolutions VI: Epilogue in 1969 10. Discussion Popper-Kuhn 11. Kuhn's later work 12 to 14 Post-Kuhn exploring science: Lakatos, Feyrabend, Latour, etc.

Learning outcomes |
The topic of the choice of the teacher. Term seminar on the philosophy of Thomas Kuhn is given as an example. Seminar is focused on the most quoted book of philosophy in the 20th century, Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions (2nd ed. 1969), and thereafter on developments in the philosophy of science and the so-called Science Studies (exploring science). Students actively prepare for the seminar. There is a discussion in the seminar based on homework and detailed study of selected key passages.
Student is able to prepare a 45 minute lemure/lesson on any of the discussed topics and study individually less sophisticated primary and secondary literature. |
