Learning outcomes
|
The course of "Philosophy of Love" is based on the philosophy of religion. His goal is not only a philosophical analysis of the concept of love along with the various philosophical concepts, but also a presentation and philosophical reflection of concepts that are found in the major religious traditions. It will not be forgotten the anthropological and psychological approach. The aim of the course is a ultimately philosophical search for answers to basic human questions, and thereby a sensitive and critical elimination of some ambiguities in the the history of thought and of some contemporary confusions.
Students will acquire the following knowledge and skills: They will be acquainted with the fundamental theme of some religious traditions. They will be also acquainted with selected philosophical concepts. The students will learn to interpret selected traditional source material. And they will learn to interpret the corresponding philosophical sources. Finally, they will learn how to reflect the existential questions from one of the fundamental areas of life and thought.

Passing other items not needed. What is required is the knowledge of one of foreign languages English or German.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

The requirement on students is 75 % participation rate and a seminar paper on the range of 5 pages. The paper will be based on a source material and on the secondary literature. In addition, the it will reflect the course content and present a personal approach to the thought.
