Course content
Diagnostic methods and their classification. Principles of work with diagnostic methods. Use of psychodiagnostics in practice. Elementary test characteristics (objectivity, standardisation, reliability, validity) Clinical methods with detailed focus on interview. Case study. Observation. Analysis of spontaneous products. Interview - phases, techniques, registration Cooperation of a special educator and psychologist Elementary test methods. Performance tests. Personality tests (projective methods, objective tests, questionnaires, scales). Special diagnostic issues. Intelligence and its disorders diagnostics. Education learning problems, underachievement. Organic CNS disorders, neuropsychological diagnostics. Family diagnostics and relationship diagnostics. Intervention principles, forms of intervention and content of intervention based on the type of disorder. Ethical questions in diagnostics and intervention SLD in elementary schools. Differential diagnostics. Possible re-education and compensation of dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and dysorthographia, principles of work with a child with SLD. Etiology and symptoms of specific behavioural disorders (AHDH, HKS?). Individual symptoms and their influencing inside school environment (attention disorder, hyperactivity, impulsiveness). Variability of the symptoms according to child's age. Symptoms of AHDH in social interaction. CNS changes of ADHD children. Secondary outcomes of the identity development of a child with ADHD. Psychological and social development of children without early diagnosed disorders. Outcomes of mistreated ADHD individuals.

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces students to the special education diagnostics, differential diagnostics of specific learning disabilities (SLD), and AHHD diagnostics and helps students to recognize the secondary outcomes of the environment towards identity development of an individual with SLD and ADHD. Students are introduced to the theoretical and practical skills and knowledge in the area of special pedagogy diagnostics.
