Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Psychological problems of illness. 2. Psychosomatic and somatopsychic relations, autoplastic picture of the disease. 3. Experiencing illness in time, ratio of patient to illness. 4. Category of patients from psychological point of view. 5. Psychological problems of hospitalization, iatropatogenia, sororigenia and egrotogenia. 6. Professional deformation, danger of burnout. 7. Iatropatogenie. 8. Psychology of pain, anxiety, fear and inferiority. 9. Types of disability and psychological approach to clients. 10. Dying and death in terms of psychology. 11. Productive and unproductive behavior, medic as a client. 12. Principles of professional behavior. Seminar topics: 1. Psychotherapy in medical work. 2. Illness as a difficult life situation. 3. Communication with sick client, senior. 4. Communication within the client's social network. 5. Non-productive behavior, productive behavior and its manifestations. 6. Special features of approach to clients in individual departments.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as theoretical - practical. It deals with the psychology of patients / clients of healthcare facilities and their families. It deals with the preparation of students for mastering the LLL and the specifics of the attitude of medical staff. Knowledge of medical psychology will contribute to better understanding of patients / clients, healthy and sick, and to understanding their needs and problems.
Expertise: After completing the course, the student has knowledge that is important for the professional mastery of demanding situations in the care of individual needs of the sick, disabled and dying, as well as for maintaining the mental balance of an independent care provider. Professional skills: The graduate is able to adequately saturate the client's needs and solve the problems associated with the disease. He / she is able to approach clients in the context of specific diseases.
