Course content
Seminar topics: 1st consultation: Speech therapy (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of speech disorders, therapy options, specifics of education and training of individuals with impaired communication skills), surdopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of hearing disorders, specifics of education and training of individuals with hearing impairment). Typhlopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of visual impairments, specifics of education and training of individuals with visual impairments), psychopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of mental disabilities, specifics of education and training of individuals with mental disabilities). Somatopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of physical disabilities and health impairments, specifics of education and training of individuals with physical disabilities). Partial deficiencies (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of learning disorders and ADHD, ADD, specifics of education and training of individuals with partial deficiencies). 2. consultation Practical introduction to individual types of speech defects - recordings, videos, hearing aids - compensatory aids. Typhoid - compensatory aids, psychopathy - social learning, alternative communication. Deafblindness, alternative and augmentative communication. Self-study: Introduction to special pedagogy (subject, goals, methods, terminology, individual special fields pedagogy, education system, inclusion, counseling - early care, SPC, legislation). Etopedia (introduction to the subject, classification and etiology of behavioral disorders, specifics of education and training of individuals with behavioral disorders).

Learning outcomes
The subject acquaints students with the specifics of children with various types of disabilities, possibilities of alternative communication and the fulfillment of free time of these children according to their age and disability.
Expertise: Students demonstrate the ability of basic orientation in special education, orientation in the offer of compensatory aids and ways of alternative and augmentative communication. Professional skills: Students are able to find information related to particular areas of special education, find suitable compensatory and didactic aids, and can orientate in organizations and internet portals dealing with problems of children with various types of disabilities.

Requirements for credit: 80% attendance at seminars, demonstration of professional and practical knowledge, seminar work according to the teacher's requirements.
