Course content
Lecture topics (2 hours/week) 1. Prevention in dentistry. 2. Nursing care at the client in restorative (conservation) dentistry. 3. Nursing care in pedostomatology. Nursing care of patient with periodontal disease. 4. Nursing care of a patient with prosthetic restorations. 5. Nursing care of a patient after dental surgery. Nursing care of a patient with cancer of the mouth. 6. Nursing care in gerontostomatology.

Learning outcomes
The subject extends knowledge in the field of professional clinical nursing in the field of oral care. It introduces preventive care in dentistry in children and adults and the most common clinical conditions and diseases of the oral cavity. It points out the importance of the nursing profession in the field of health education in various oral health programs.
Expertise: The student will gain a basic overview of diseases of the oral cavity, salivary glands and jaw sinuses. He / she is well informed in the field of anatomy, physiology, diagnostic-therapeutic and nursing process in patients with dental diseases in all age categories. The scope of teaching is only a general one and is a guide for students to further study the issue. Professional skills: Students will be acquainted with the problems of working in dental clinics and departments of oral, jaw and facial surgery. Students are able to describe examination and imaging methods, assess the patient's condition in the perioperative period in children and adults, learn the principles of preoperative, interoperative and postoperative care of patients of all ages, incl. They will master specific skills in outpatient and inpatient units and principles of aseptic way of working.
