Course content
Lecture topics: 1. consultation Heart and blood vessel diseases - congenital and acquired heart defects, ischemic heart diseases - acute and chronic. Cardiovascular diseases - dysrhythmia, defibrillation, cardioversion, heart and circulation insufficiency. Heart and blood vessel diseases - arterial disease, acute arterial occlusion, venous disease, acute embolism, hypertensive disease 2. consultation Respiratory diseases - developmental respiratory diseases, inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, cancer respiratory diseases, degenerative and functional respiratory diseases. Diseases of the digestive system - disorders of digestion and absorption, diseases of the esophagus and stomach. Exercise topics: 3. consultation Diseases of the digestive system - diseases of the small and large intestine, acute pancreatitis, GIT tumors. Disorders of internal environment - disorders of water and electrolyte metabolism, disorders of acid-base balance. Metabolic disease - obesity, gout, hyperlipidemia. 4. consultation Nursing care about patients with acute and chronic forms of CHD. Nursing care about patient with heart failure and arrhythmias. Nursing care about patient with vascular disease and pulmonary embolism. Nursing care about a patient with asthma bronchiale. Self-study: Nursing care about a patient with gastroduodenal ulcer disease. Nursing care about patients with small and large bowel diseases. Nursing care about the patient by disturbance of water, electrolyte and acid-base balance. Nursing care about patients with metabolic diseases (obesity, gout, hyperlipidemia).

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It is part of a complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It characterizes clinical conditions in internal medicine in terms of nursing care and needs of patients changed in connection with internal diseases. It acquaints with the specifics of the diagnostics of the branch, treatment and nursing care of patients in internal branches.
Expertise: The student knows the causes, etiology and symptoms of internal diseases. The student knows the basic procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in internal medicine. The student can describe the specifics of nursing care for patients with internal diseases. Professional skills: The student is able to prepare a plan of nursing care in the context of the specifics of the disease in internal disciplines. The student is able to elaborate, realize and evaluate educational plan for patients with selected internal diseases.
