Lecture topics: 1. Anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system. 2. The woman's care system. 3. Gynecological surgery. 4. Gynecological inflammations. 5. Physiological pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. 6. Irregular pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. 7. Examination methods in gynecology and obstetrics. Benign tumors, precancers and malignant tumors of the female reproductive system. Exercise topics: 1. Nursing process for a teenage girl, woman in a gynecological clinic. 2. Nursing process for a woman undergoing gynecological surgery. The nursing process for a woman after menopause 3. Nursing process in a woman with inflammation of the external genitalia. 4. Nursing process for a woman with parental cancer. 5. Nursing process in a woman with physiological, high-risk and pathological pregnancy. 6. Nursing process for a woman with physiological birth. 7. Nursing process in a physiological six-month-old.

The subject Nursing Care of Patients in Gynecology and Obstetrics is theoretically - practical and acquaints students with the concept of the field of care of women in the whole spectrum of physiological, risk and pathological conditions. It focuses on gynecological and obstetric care, using knowledge from other interdisciplinary subjects (anatomy, physiology, Latin language, nursing, nursing procedures). The nursing process focuses on physiological situations (pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium) as well as pathological states, respecting the basic needs of women and trying to meet them. The aim of the subject is to independently define and creatively solve the theoretical and practical problem in the given area.
Expertise: The student describes the reproductive system of a woman. The student explains the menstrual cycle of a woman. The student lists the basic examination methods used in the field of GYN-OBST. The student will educate the woman before the expected gynecological surgery. Students evaluate the course of physiological pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. Professional skills: The student assesses the physical condition of a woman in a gynecological clinic. The student carries out the nursing process in a woman undergoing gynecological surgery. Student is able to realize education of pregnant woman in prenatal clinic. The student will demonstrate education in the area of breastfeeding.
