Course content
Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: Illness and its causes. Death and death changes. Regressive changes. Onkopatologie. Tumor Epidemiology. Etiopathogenesis of tumors. Apoptosis. Oncogenes. Diagnostic and Therapy Options. Circulating tumor cells. General system of cancer diseases. Special oncopathology. Seminar Topics: 2nd consultation Pathology, its importance and position in medicine. Biopsy and cytology examination, role of nurse. Heart-attack. CNS circulatory disorders. Lung tumors, breast tumors. Diabetes mellitus. Sepsis, shock states, DIC. Causae mortis in surgery. Causae mortis in internal medicine. Self-study: Pathology of circulatory system.

Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical. After completing the course, students will become an overview of the causes of diseases, regressive and metabolic changes and cancer diseases. Students will also get an overview of the methods of processing material intended for histological examination, diagnostic methods used in routine practice, including special methods used in the field (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, molecular biological methods).
Expertise: Students will acquire basic knowledge of general pathology and pathology of basic organ systems. Professional skills: Students will master basic medical terminology and understand the application of pathology in practice, in science, research.
