The Second Year: Professional Training III. and IV.: Training in Winter semester is focused on the area of bed wards, clinical facilities of internal medicine and surgical fields based on the list of individual clinical work places. Internal fields: lungs, gastroenterological, cardiological and children's department and surgical field: surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, traumatology, pectoral, injuries, children's surgery, urology. Students will know the specifics and organization of work at these facilities and departments, the cooperation between nursing teams, medical documentation administering and providing of health care by a certain nursing process. In Summer semester the professional training is focused on the area of bed wards and clinical workplaces of internal fields: lungs, gastroenterological, cardiological and children's department and surgical field: surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, traumatology, pectoral, injuries, children's surgery and urology departments. Students will know the specifics and organization of work at these facilities and departments. They will learn how to evaluate basic needs of the patients, environtment (material, human), which is sufficient for the needs of the clients from the point of health care and their health condition. Students will practise communication, they will create a care plan; students will take part in education, activisation training for the children and adult patients, they will deal with medical documentation.

Before starting the course students should meet medical fitness requirements and vaccination against transmissible diseases under the current legislation, they will attend training sessions on work safety and fire protection. The requirement for granting the credits is 100% participation (see the list of workplaces for each semester). They should also keep the records of professional experience and submit the completed certified professional training proofs including evaluation. They will have to manage nursing records as instructed by the supervisor mentoring professional training. According to the Decree no. 39/2005 Coll., Paragraph (7), it can be shortened by the number of hours for the students who: have a valid certificate for the medical profession without professional supervision in the field of general nursing (Short training of 650 hours /academic year) and demonstrate practical education completed in study programs mentioned in part (1) of the decree for training of the relevant or similar medical profession, it can be reduced only by the time proven by training or the period of performing the relevant or similar medical profession, but it will require special content and training. Students of part-time programs who do not work in a medical facility and did not complete an accredited study program mentioned in part (1) will fulfill training duration in full as it is specified for full-time students under the guidance of a healthcare professional, a mentor / a trainer who has a certificate to perform the profession without any professional supervision, as it is mentioned in §46. 2 of Act no. 372/2011 Coll., on health services and terms.
