Course content
Lecture Topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Introduction to the organization and current issues of paediatrics. Growth and development of healthy child, nutrition. 2. Pharmacotherapy in childhood, infectious diseases in childhood. 3. Diseases of the respiratory system, skin diseases. 4. Diseases of blood, heart, blood circulation. 5. Kidney and urinary tract diseases. 6. Digestive system diseases. Diseases of endocrine glands. Exercise topics: 1. Nursing process in children with respiratory diseases. 2. Nursing process in children with respiratory diseases. 3. Nursing process in children with GIT disease. 4. Nursing process in children with diseases of the uropoietic tract. 5. Nursing process in children with haematopoiesis and blood clotting disorders. 6. Nursing process in children with selected endocrine diseases.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as theoretical - practical. It is part of a complex of nursing subjects for mother and child care. It gives an overview of the peculiarities of nursing care and the individual needs of children in different age groups with an emphasis on the neonatal and infant periods. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for the overall nursing care of the child, including intensive care.
Expertise: The student is able to distinguish and enumerate individual developmental periods of a child's year, can explain the anatomical and physiological peculiarities of a child's organism, can describe in greater detail the differences in the diet of children in different developmental stages principles and complications related to individual procedures and procedures applied in practice. Professional skills: The student is able to evaluate the overall condition of the child with respect to his or her age, to select and work with appropriate scaling techniques and methodology for the child with respect to his / her age, to carry out the nursing process in its individual phases with respect to the child's age and individual characteristics; .
