Lecture Topics: (2 hours / week) 1. Categories of human needs of the patient in nursing - theory of needs of the patient, relationship of motivation - need, classification of needs. 2. Factors modifying satisfaction of patient's needs, specifics of assessment of psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs of patient. 3. Specifics of meeting the needs of seniors. 4. Specifics of meeting the needs of children. 5. Nursing process, introduction, history. Assessment in the nursing process. 6. Diagnostics in nursing process. 7. Nursing process planning. Nursing interventions. 8. Implementation and evaluation in the nursing process. 9. Documentation of nursing process. 10. Problems of psychosocial needs in nursing process. 11. Sexual needs in nursing process. 12. Spirituality and religiosity in the nursing process. Seminar topics: 1. Patient's needs - creation of daily life activities of the patient according to the patient's needs using nursing models 2. Classification of needs and differences in a healthy and sick person. 3. Needs in seniors - creation of daily life activities in seniors. 4. Needs in children - creating activities of daily life. 5. Forms of providing nursing care using the nursing process in practice. 6. Practical assessment using nursing documentation. 7. Creation of nursing diagnoses based on the submitted patient / client medical history. 8. Creation of nursing plans based on established nursing diagnoses. 9. Practical documentation of performed interventions, evaluation of nursing plan. 10. Nursing process in the area: security and safety, self-concept and self-esteem. 11. Nursing process in the field of sexuality, spirituality and religiosity. 12. Creation of nursing process according to presented case reports.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is an essential part of nursing theory. It enables students to understand the main task of professional nursing practice, which is to ensure and satisfy the living needs of the patient / client, family and community. It acquaints with classifications of human needs by different disciplines and authors and focuses on reactions and manifestations of unmet needs in healthy, ill, and special needs and dying people.
Expertise: Students are able to enumerate and define the individual stages of the nursing process and understand the importance of individual needs in the health-disease relationship. Professional skills: Students can apply the method of nursing process in a particular patient by means of case studies to use evaluation and measuring scales in the evaluation of the patient in the context of nursing history and evaluation of nursing interventions; evaluate the needs of the patient in compiling the nursing medical history and nursing plan, assess the severity of the need disruption and the possibility of their influence by nursing intervention.
