Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: 1. Internal disorders. 2. Immune disorders. 3. Allergic diseases. 4. Diseases of nervous and muscular system. 2nd consultation: 1. The most common visual, hearing and speech disorders. 2. Sudden conditions in paediatrics. 3. Resuscitation of newborn and older child. 4. Social paediatrics. Exercise topics: 3rd consultation: 1. The nursing process of a child with an internal environment disorder. 2. Nursing process in a child with epilepsy. 3. Nursing process in children with neuroinfections. 4. Nursing process in children with skin disease. 4. consultation: 1. Nursing process by a child with immune system disorder. 2. Nursing process by children with allergic diseases. 3. Nursing process by children with visual impairment. 4. Nursing process by children with hearing impairment. Self-study: Physiological newborn. Baby nutrition (breastfeeding, vitamins).

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as theoretical - practical. It is part of a complex of nursing subjects for mother and child care. It gives an overview of the peculiarities of nursing care and individual needs of children in different age groups with emphasis on the neonatal and infant period. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for the overall nursing care of the child, including intensive care.
Expertise: The student knows the causes, etiology and symptoms of childhood diseases. The student knows basic procedures in diagnostics and treatment of diseases in paediatrics. Professional skills: The student is able to prepare a plan of nursing care in the context of the specifics of the disease in paediatrics. The student is able to develop, realize and evaluate educational plan for children with selected diseases.
