Lecture topics: 1st consultation: Quality - basic concepts and definitions, Quality concept and the role of management. Quality management methods. Ishikawa. Deming cycle. EFQM. TQM. Method 5 S. Process management. Quality management models. Quality system requirements. Accreditation. Certification. Quality manager. Information and communication in QMS. Methodology of data collection. Seminar topics: 2nd consultation: Documentation and its management. Satisfaction tracking. Internal and external audit. Risk management. Standardization of processes. Standardization of procedures. Self-study: 1. Health care quality indicators. 2. Quality management project in medical facility. 3. Planning and implementation of internal audit.

Learning outcomes |
The subject acquaints students with the basics of service quality management with orientation on health care. It informs about process management and quality management systems, as well as about the role of health care management in setting strategic goals and creating quality concept. Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject explains the terms related to the SCO and in the practical part (seminars) it provides students with the possibility of using theoretical knowledge in practice, ie creating a project of introducing the SCO in a medical facility.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of individual models of quality management, concepts of accreditation and certification in healthcare. The student demonstrates knowledge in terms of internal and external quality audit and has a basic overview of quality management methods in supportive health services, pharmacies and laboratories. Professional skills: The student is able to create a project of quality management for medical facility. They know the concept of process standardization and can create a diagram of the process. It respects the legitimacy of the documentation and the need for its management. He / she can plan an internal audit of the PMO. Can identify health care quality indicators and set the methodology for their monitoring and then interpret. |
