|
Framework scope of practice: --Establishing a plan of care for a patient with a specific medical diagnosis. --Collection of biological material, including invasive sampling. --Administration of drugs per os. - Administration of injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intravenous, intramuscular). - Provision of peripheral venous access. - Assisting in securing central venous accesses. - Assisting in the preparation and administration of infusions, transfusions. - Assisting with drainage patients, drainage systems, care of pediatric wound patients, wound dressings, preparation of sterile tables, assisting with special examinations in internal medicine and surgery. - Assisting with dressings. - Assisting with insertion of gastric and duodenal probes. - Assisting in the puncture of the patient. - Care of a child with a stoma, care of chronic wounds, including decubitus. - Monitoring physiological needs, measuring oxygen saturation. - Preparation of the patient for surgery, care of the pediatric patient after surgery. - Preparation of aids for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. - Monitoring of pediatric patients using standardized measurement techniques. - Receipt, control and storage of medicines.

Learning outcomes
|
Individual practice is implemented at health care providers in inpatient health care facilities, at clinical departments of internal and surgical focus for pediatric patients. Students learn about the specifics and organization of work in these departments, working with medical records and providing nursing care through the nursing process. They deepen their ability to work collaboratively within nursing teams, assessing the environment (material and personnel) to meet the needs of the individual. They will improve in assessing the individual health status and needs of pediatric patients in terms of nursing care, practicing communication, developing a plan of care, education, practicing child activation, and working with nursing documentation. The aim is to involve the student in the work of the health care team, consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired during the theoretical training, expand practical knowledge and independence, including the organization of work during the provision of nursing care to children.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice and nursing theory that can be applied in practice through nursing plans and nursing interventions. The list of departments accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, with which the Faculty of Nursing has a contractual relationship, is given in Table B-IV. Professional skills: The student can implement nursing care using the nursing process method, can work with medical documentation and is a valid member of the health care team. General competencies: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge and manual skills in natural settings, and is able to communicate with the pediatric client, family, and members of the health care team.
