Course content
Seminar topics: 1. Methods of health care reimbursement in the Czech Republic (primary care, secondary care and tertiary care) - 2 hours. 2. Public and private sources of health care financing in the Czech Republic - 2 hours. 3. Sources of financing health care facilities in the Czech Republic. 4. Management of relations with health care payers. 5. Financial management in health care contributors. 6. Overview of reimbursement systems by segments of provision. 7. Capitation payments, performance reimbursement. 8. Ambulatory care reimbursement system. 9 Reimbursement system for acute inpatient care. 10. Inpatient follow-up care reimbursement system.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the system of multi-source financing of health care facilities in the Czech Republic. After completing the course, students will understand the financing of health care facilities and will be familiar with the basic methods of economic evaluation of health care facilities. The course also introduces students to the current reimbursement system, including legislative boundaries and historical context, and illustrative management of the production of medical and preventive care in a healthcare facility will be presented.
Expertise: The student demonstrates knowledge of the basic models of financing of health care facilities in the Czech Republic and the EU, orientation in the system of reimbursement according to the segments of care provided, knowledge of financial flows in health care with a focus on public and private sources. Professional skills: The student knows the methods of reimbursement of health care in the Czech Republic in primary, secondary and tertiary care and is able to use them in practice. General competencies: The student is able to communicate their own professional opinions clearly and persuasively to professionals and the general public.
