Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Game therapy. Game Specialist 2. Specifics of children in hospital. 3. Child's admission to the hospital. 4. Development of play in ontogeny. 5. Changes in the personality of the child in the hospital. 6. Play in the hospital. Family and play. Seminar topics. 1. Appropriate play aids and materials. 2. Principles of playroom operation. 3. Games ay with children with severe and long-term illnesses. 4. Games with infants. Games with toddlers. 5. Games for pre-school children. Games for younger school-age children. 6. Games for school-age children. Game activities for older children and adolescents.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical and practical unit. It is part of a complex of subjects that profile graduates for the education of healthy and sick children of different age groups. The student will become familiar with the techniques of educational work and acquire the practical skills necessary for educational work with healthy and sick children, including cooperation with other professionals, family members and other health professionals. The student will be able to create play activities, organise educational programmes, introduce the child to the illness in an appropriate way and help them cope with it.
Expertise: The student is able to distinguish and list the principles of activation of children at different developmental stages, knows the specifics of play activities in the hospital. Professional skills: The student knows how to implement specific play activities in relation to the child's age and clinical condition. The student is able to communicate with the child's family and involve them in play activities. General Competencies: The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge and skills in natural settings, and is able to communicate with the child client and members of the health care team.
