Learning outcomes
The course should enable students to put their mathematical knowledge in historical context. It briefly describes the prehistory of mathematics, establishment of mathematics as a science, antic mathematics, Arabian mathematics and its influence on European mathematics in Middle-Ages, formation of infinitesimal calculus. The course focuses more closely on set theory.
